Feet locked to the ground,
where's your target now?
Never understood why you screamed,
and you somehow survived - how?
Silver lining my toe,
who let that hope in here?
Why did you let the angels through -
because you watched me shed a tear?
You know better than that,
I was a lost cause millenia ago.
No, don't tell me it's worth it,
because I have always flown solo.
Feet chained to the ground,
you've found your target now.
Figured I was a survivor, huh?
Let that ball and chain drop -
         how 'bout now?
For some ludicrous reason, I had the image of someone trying to save Lucifer from hell while writing this.
Nooo idea why.

Some of the lines seem a little long for the rhythm, but I like the imagery that you use!  The lines 'Silver lining my toe,/who let that hope in here?' were especially provocative, and the constant use of questions helps make this a very satisfying and pleasing poem.
