Literature Text

The resplendent sun goddess
Giving us a much-needed pause
When winter's gray is here
It cloaks your shoulders;
A hard fabric to throw back
When the blossoms of spring arrive.
I venerate that star,
Prized possession that I share;
Yet, even with no clouds in the sky
I see a darkness lying over the world,
For who can revel in the warmth
When your own light is shadowed?
Who do you look after
When the moon's sun is followed -
Black look, ugly on all's face,
Take back your gifts and bring my sun!
Where have you hidden his visage,
In amongst your broken nebulas
Bring back my shining star
And the crown he wore so proudly!
I know of you dirty tricks, your sly game
For I have laid waste to them myself.
Return to me my galaxy, colored bright
Efflorescence, life flows freely from him
And you have stolen him away from my arms.
Do not challenge my strength,
For it is that of an army and more.
Hell hath no fury like that of a woman dared,
And heaven hath none like those of hers scared.
In sunshine there is love,
In darkness, there is more
For I hold close to me those
Who are angry or scared.
So give back what is not yours
Return my shining star to his glory
Let him reign once more,
Where everyone could see his pride
Nothing can wash away his heart
Even in your cold, gray embrace.
He will emerge with energy, fire
Step forth full of grace.

Yet another older piece - I don't think I've ever posted this here, but I could be wrong.
